Goal Achieved!

We have reached our goal for the year with two collection weeks to go! Thanks to our supporters, we collected $32.60 this week as well as an amazing $97.06 in donations. This put us over the top for a year total of $1011.07!!!

What a difference one month has made. Before we started canvassing the neighbourhood we looked to be falling short our goal but since then the incredible response from neighbours, friends and family has been instrumental in helping surge passed our target.

It was a humbling experience to realize our success requires the help of others but also invigorating to witness the outpouring of support. We are encouraged every time we see a neighbour has left a case at the top of their driveway or a few bottles neatly placed on their porch. It’s amazing to see so many people taking the time to put their items out for us.

Another great experience in this project is meeting people on the streets of our neighbourhood. It’s not uncommon to strike up a conversation and make acquaintances. We’re building relationships which is fantastic.

We’ve gone through the Gifts of Compassion catalogue and have a good idea of what we want to contribute. We are now waiting for the final collection of the year to firm up everything and process our donation submission.
